We live in Monterey, California and our labs spend their time roaming Asilomar State Beach, which is four minutes from our home. Our dogs are chocolate English-style labradors from champion, hunting lines. They are family members, intelligent, easy going, and really easy to train.
I bought my first Labrador retriever, Jake, who was a huge black boy from champion hunting lines in Virginia in 1994. He was a senior hunter before he was three! He was the most obsessed retriever I have ever seen! The other folks at the hunt tests called him “Retrieval Knievel.” Sadly, he died of Exercise Induced Collapse before he turned five. Both of my dogs are EIC clear.
My second lab was a gorgeous yellow, Tucker, and we bought him right away because we missed Jake terribly. Tucker was a wonderful boy and a close member of the family. He was a pet and a terrific retriever and acrobatic diver. He passed away at eleven and I decided that I couldn't have another black or yellow lab so I went looking for a chocolate. That is when I saw the picture of "Moon" CH Baja Weikenlin Moonking at Kenya Labradors in Santa Margarita Lake, CA. What a fabulous boy! He is the grandsire of my boy, Kenya Persuasive Moon "Bentley" and sire of my girl, Kenya Buckwheat Pancake "Pancake". In less than two years, Bentley is nearly a champion! He only needs two points to finish. People began asking to breed to him and thus we became "Bentley's Labradors!"
